Create and Explore: STEAM Based Projects
Where art gets a little electric. Create and Explore: STEAM-Based Projects invites kids (and their grown-ups!) to combine hands-on art-making with real engineering by building pieces that light up, spin, and move.
Using parts of the Engineering Design Process, your little sapling will design, build, and problem-solve their way through projects like:
A lamp with a light that turns on with a button
An airplane with a small motor that spins
A spin art station they build and run themselves
A scene or mini world with added lights or moving parts
Each week is a fresh, standalone project. We start from scratch every session, so there's no need to worry about missing a class or falling behind. Jump in anytime and dive straight into that week's build.
Every project comes with different levels of difficulty, so kids can dive into the full build or start with a pre-wired project and focus on the art and design side. Whatever fits their comfort level, curiosity, and age. Grown-ups are encouraged to jump in and help their child work through the process together; some of the best problem-solving happens side by side.
This class is inspired by STEAM curriculum, but it's not a graded course. There's no evaluation, no self-profile, and no formal certification. Our goal is simple: get kids and parents talking about the Engineering Design Process and thinking about how it applies to everyday problem-solving, not just the project in front of them.
Skills your child will work on:
Problem solving — working through design challenges step by step
Motor skills — hands-on assembly and fine motor control
Creative design — making real choices about how a project looks and works
Engineering Design Process — introducing the same thinking process real engineers use
Mondays & Wednesdays, 5:30-6:30pm | Ages 5-12
Sign up and watch your little sapling's art come to life, literally.
