Every artist starts somewhere. Create and Explore: Art Mixed-Media Projects is where your child gets to discover which mediums speak to them. This class is a hands-on journey through a rotating lineup of art techniques, giving kids the chance to experiment, compare, and find their favorites, all while building a real foundation in the fundamentals.

Each session introduces a different medium, so no two weeks look the same:

  • Watercolors — soft blending and color exploration

  • Acrylic painting — bold color and texture

  • Dry clay — sculpting and 3D form

  • Pencil coloring — shading, detail, and control

  • Oil pastels — rich, tactile color work

  • And more... — new techniques added throughout the series

There's no pressure to be "good" at any one medium right away. This class is about exploration, experimentation, and building confidence one project at a time.

Skills your child will build:

  • Motor skills — fine motor control through varied tools and techniques

  • Problem solving — working through creative challenges and adapting on the fly

  • Creative process — learning how to start, iterate, and finish a piece from concept to completion
